“The power of prayer is awesome, to say the least!! Jesus’ love connects us all. When the deepest worries or hurts come, shared prayer renews hope, carries the light of Christ brighter and sends His healing power. ‘Prayer in joy is doubled, in grief divided’… assurance He awaits with outstretched arms. His love, forgiveness and healing is for eternity and always within our reach. ‘Without Him I am nothing’ ”

It’s all about what God is doing in our midst. It’s not about us.”

“Being a new member of the Women’s Sodality of Sacred Heart has been an enjoyable experience. Not only have we come to know fellow parishioners and felt more a part of the community, but we also learned more about the works of the parish and archdiocese through the different speakers. Coming together before each meeting at Mass, sharing with friends in an informal meeting, and being a part of a faith community are some of the many pleasures of the sodality.”

Evangelization Committee

The purpose of the Evangelization Committee is to develop new ideas to support and nurture the members of the parish in their efforts to ensure a welcoming environment to all. Currently members of the Evangelization Committee assist at Baptisms and plan an annual Mass of Remembrance.

Sodality of Our Lady

The Sodality of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish is an organization of women honoring Our Blessed Mother. The Sodality is a spiritual and charitable organization for the women of the parish. The Sodality provides social and cultural activities for the parish, and sponsors charitable causes. Some ladies of the Sodality make baptismal robes used in the rite of baptism ceremony and are given to the babies to keep. Scholarships are given by the Sodality to graduating seniors who have attended our religious education programs and who are active in our parish.

Meetings are held once a month from October to May on the first Tuesday of the month. Each meeting is preceded by the celebration of Mass followed by a business meeting and a social evening in the Sacred Heart Church Parish Hall.

Knights of Columbus

Although not strictly a parish organization, the Knights of Columbus are a group of men dedicated to the parish in many ways. Many Knights serve as ushers. The Knights have for several years cooked for our annual Parish Chicken Barbecue. The Knights also help the parish by sharing the proceeds of their monthly meal and meat raffle with Sacred Heart and Sts. Martha and Mary Parishes. Membership in the Knights is open to Catholic men who are interested in committing themselves to works of charity, unity and fraternity.
